Who uses it
Six roles, two very different rooms
An office screen and a cold-room screen cannot be the same screen. Density that works on a laptop is unusable in gloves, and targets that work in gloves waste a laptop.
The owner
Asks what can be sold, plans shortfalls, takes orders with a date they can keep.
The factory manager
Releases every job before it reaches the floor, approves count variances, closes the period.
The store room
Works the pick queue, issues from a named place, stages, and chases what is owed back.
The maker
Sees the method at the real quantity and records what actually went in.
The counter
Counts without being shown what the system expects.
Quality
Scans the signed paper records and indexes them against the job, the batch and the recipe version.
And one thing it will not do
Bala does not rank people
Every movement names the person who made it, so you can answer who collected that and who packed this. There is no score, no league table and no comparison between people, and there will not be one.
The moment a record like this becomes a performance tool, the counts stop being honest and every number downstream becomes decoration. It is a design decision, not a setting.
Start with two weeks
A short conversation, then two weeks on your floor. At the end you have a fixed price and your factory's knowledge written down, and you owe nothing further.
